2026 Summer Reading Program

Read Wild!

June 1-August 28, 2026

Read for rewards, play BINGO, & attend free activities at the library and in the community all summer.

This Year's Theme & "Call of the Wild"

This year our summer reading program theme is “Read Wild!” and it is inspired by our natural mountain environment and Jack London’s novel “Call of the Wild.” This classic book symbolizes the westward struggle and pioneering spirit that settled the American West. In homage to America’s 250th Anniversary and Colorado’s 150th, we’ll be doing a community read of this book – giving away free copies of the book & facilitating discussions.

The 1st 100 summer readers to register receive their free copy!

Reading Challenge

The Summer Reading Challenge allows you to track minutes read to earn digital badges (every 2 hours), milestone rewards (every 10 hours), raffle tickets (throughout) for our grand prizes. There are 3 grand prizes per age group: 0-5, 6-11, 12-17, & 18+ adults.

We are challenging readers to log 2,500 minutes all summer (roughly 40 hours) to help us reach our community goal of 250,000 minutes. This is in honor of America's 250th Anniversary!

Bingo Activity Cards

We'll have new Bingo Activity Cards each month & will feature different activities for each age group: 0-5, 6-11, 12-17, & 18+ adults. Participants must register and complete each month individually.

Rewards

Reading & playing BINGO are both ways to earn rewards. These are a mixture of virtual badges,  small gifts, and raffle tickets for our grand prizes. Grand prizes can be viewed on our Beanstack site by clicking through on the challenges. Thank you to our sponsors for contributing to the success of this year's program.

Registration

You can register for each challenge - All Summer Reading, June Bingo,  July Bingo, August Bingo - on our Beanstack site: pagosalibrary.beanstack.com

The reading challenge is the same for all ages and can be completed all summer.

The Bingo challenges are all on one Bingo card but have activities for the different age groups: 0-5, 6-11, 12-17, and 18+ adults.

All raffle tickets earned across the  challenges can count towards the same grand prizes you choose.

Offline Participation

If you are unable to access the Beanstack platform, paper reading logs & Bingo cards will be available at the library.
