Public Access Computers

A library card or guest pass grants patrons a 60-minute session on a public access computer in the library. The public access computers are PCs running Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010.  The computers have USB and SD ports. DVD drives may be checked out for use with the public access computers.  We sell earbuds for $2.

Black and white printing is available for $.15 per page and $.50 cents per page for color (8.5 x 11).  Print jobs must be sent from the public access computers (not personal laptops) and retrieved and paid for at the circulation desk.

WiFi

The library offers WiFi to patrons with personal laptops and other devices, such as smartphones.  WiFi is available in the building during library hours and outside of the library building 24 hours a day, though we cannot guarantee consistent connectivity outside, especially after business hours.  The public WiFi network is RMS-Patron and the password (security key) is archuleta (case sensitive).  We have added a second public WiFi network of RMS-Patron Ext which works best in the reading room.

Colorado WorkForce Laptops

The library provides WorkForce laptops that can be checked out to search for jobs, improve work skills, and coordinate with the Colorado WorkForce Centers. These laptops are available on Tuesdays from 1pm-3pm and Thursdays from 1pm-4pm. Patrons must sign an agreement form and present their library card to check-out a laptop. Use of the laptops are restricted to Colorado WorkForce tasks and cannot be taken outside the library.

Nook eReaders

The library lends Nook eReaders for 3 week periods (no renewals). These are preloaded with bestselling books and are not intended to be used for downloading additional titles. The library currently circulates 11 Nooks.  Some of these are tablets, which allow patrons to go online.  If you have questions, please be sure to ask!
When returning Nooks, do not place them in the book drops as they may be damaged.

Other Library Equipment

The library offers the following equipment use and services:

  • Photocopier–$.15 per single side (8.5 x 11)
  • Fax–$1 per page for either sending or receiving.  The library fax number is (970) 264-4764.
  • Lamination–$2 per linear foot ($2 minimum) or $2 per badge item
  • DVD and CD cleaning–$2 per disk
  • Flatbed scanner–no charge
