ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reports to: Library Director

SUMMARY:

The Assistant Director works closely with the Library Director to maintain and develop outstanding library services, oversee facilities,  and manage staff. Assumes Director’s responsibilities in their absence.

Responsibilities include:

• Training and supervising staff
• Collection development, including selection, weeding and merchandising of materials
• Program development, evaluation, and publicity
• Interacting with patrons and community groups
• Assisting in the daily operation of the library
• Maintenance of website
• Maintenance of statistical data and preparation of annual reports
• All other work as assigned.

Requirements:

• Masters degree in Library and Information Science from an accredited program
• 3 years supervisory/ team building experience in a library setting

Position is 40 hours per week on-site.
